  as a former window cleaner i can say:-.

  a. i started my self employment at 17.. b. i built the round with my own initiative.. c. i was soon making 4 times the average hourly wage.. d. i was afraid of heights, but as the round grew i employed 2 people.. e. it exspanded to gardening painting and decorating ect, ect,.

  I think a job in which you can conbine your time and be your own boss is great...just make sure your spare time is YOUR time.

  p.s now i live in Sweden when ever i return to England and see my ex friends on the street, we talk and i give nothing away but they work out instantly i am not a witness....its wierd.

  Yes i started this post to send the contents to a witness friend. He is a plummer and i contacted him with a heating problem on a flat i rent. He replyed with a picture of him at the kingdom hall, i asumed because he wanted to see if i was still a witness. Anyway he did the job i paid him and thats the end of it.

  Data a Dg you say " The G. B are not going to send you a check or pay your medical bills" f...king right and many elders are elders because there circumstances mean they dont have this worry. Oh i tell you what f...ks me off is the elderly who give there property to the society rather than there kids who are not witnesses. The elders are have the name as witnesses on the will. This is Wrong, so wrong. The governments must stop wills being witnessed by members of a religion when the money goes to the religion.

  previously the "locusts" have been the anointed, and the locusts being joined by coackroaches has symbolized the anointed being joined by 'other sheep.

  great observation...and i am not being cynical, but who cares?

  I mean the watchtower often drops little gems, golden nuggets in to the literature, and like your well observed observation long evity and repitition are not the point...its all lost and forgotten the next study.

  I am amazed that little tit- bits in watchtowers gone by have passed by without comment on this site. I remember a gem in the WT study " as we give a final witness" ..such crap, such bullshit...and oh you got a laugh....but here today gone tomorrow...its so stupid, they could write " in the final hours" and 10 years later .....blah blah blah.

  I agree Data Dog..but the other side of the coin is if we allow anything we do be it working on a factory line, selling soap or being a director in a large corporation...if we allow that to be more important than friends family and whats really important...so what i am saying is " Whats Bettering Ourselfs"...maybe its an ego problem or needing to be accepted ( hhich is a ego problem) ok then fear...

  Today I Da'd -Twenty-five years ago. Regrets -some.

  yes twenty-five years ago today we sent in our da letter.

  some regrets, not about leaving the cult obviously, but sometimes when i read about people slowly fading and keeping in touch with family and friends i wonder if we should have done that.

  of course it was before the internet in 1989 so we didn't know about people fading.. one day we were driving along and we had been talking about moving congregations because we knew something was wrong but of course we thought it was local.

  Dat.a Dog i agree with you whole heartedley. But dont all organisations do this to a degree. Work and work on the 515... one hour and fifteen minutes to work and one hour fifteen minutes home again..3 hours aday 15 hours a week.. most witnesses dont do those hours on the ministry in a month.
